It's berry season! I wasn't initially planning any berry adventures this summer but then as I was doing my blog reading I came across this and this and the seed was planted. I was inspired to make a small batch of plain strawberry jam, that is until I was in the store the other day and found some dark red beautiful rhubarb. You know what's coming. It can't be helped. Yesterday I made some (if I dare say so myself) of the best strawberry rhubarb jam ever. I haven't had any since I was a kid and it is divine. Today the mission is homemade bread because after all homemade jam on store bought bread is forever just so so. I have some strawberries and rhubarb leftover so there is also strawberry rhubarb pie or tartlets in my near future. Ah... summer.
My hopes to bake at least one thing a week this summer are in full swing and I'm loving the process - the planing, the perusing recipes, the shopping for lovely fresh ingredients and the making, with intention and love. It just tastes better that way. The wine is optional.

And yes, my camera, humble as it may be, is back in working order. Yay!!
